QRWisp

QR Code Reader

Read any QR code with your camera or from an image file, and see the decoded content before you act on it. Nothing is uploaded and nothing opens automatically.

Decoding happens entirely on your device. No image and no decoded text is ever uploaded.

Why read a code before opening it

A QR code is opaque by design — the pattern tells you nothing about where it leads. That is exactly what makes it useful for phishing, a technique now common enough to have its own name: quishing. Fake parking meter stickers, fake restaurant menus and fake invoice codes all rely on you scanning and tapping without looking.

This reader shows you the decoded text and stops there. You decide whether to open it.

What it can read

Links, plain text, WiFi credentials, contact cards, calendar events, email and SMS payloads, locations, and payment codes including PIX, UPI and cryptocurrency addresses. The payload type is labelled automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to scan an unknown QR code here?

Safer than with your phone camera, yes. We show you the decoded text without opening anything, so you can read the destination before deciding. Nothing is opened automatically.

Does the image get uploaded?

No. Decoding runs in your browser with JavaScript. Neither the image nor the decoded text leaves your device.

Why can it not read my photo?

Usually blur, glare or too little of the frame filled by the code. Crop closer, hold steady, and avoid direct reflections on glossy print.
