Frequently asked questions
Is this an official Banco Central tool?
No. This is an independent generator that implements the public EMV MPM specification used by the BR Code. It is not affiliated with the Banco Central do Brasil.
Why does my bank reject the code?
Almost always the key is mistyped, or the payee name and city do not match what is registered with your bank. Names are limited to 25 characters and cities to 15.
Does my PIX key get sent anywhere?
No. The BR Code, including the CRC16 checksum, is calculated in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
Why this generator is different
Most free QR code generators are a trial in disguise: you design the code, then discover the download needs a subscription. Here every format — including vector SVG, PDF and EPS — is free, with no account and no watermark.
Every code is also tested before you download it. We decode the generated image the way a phone camera would and compare it to what you typed, then check contrast and logo coverage. If something would stop it scanning in the real world, you are told exactly what to change.
Nothing you type is transmitted. The entire generator runs in your browser, which is why it keeps working with no connection at all.
